i actually want to get whole sets of comic books that have been translated from Japanese and Korean comic books.

There are many many places where you can get them, here are a few suggestions:
1. Page 1 – located on floor 4 of the Taipei 101 mall – they have a large section devoted to Japanese anime/manga and other comics.
2. Eslite Book Store – there are a few Eslite book stores in Taipei – there is one about a 10 min walk from the 101 building (not far from Taipei City Hall MRT station) – that is the biggest Eslite book store and has a very very large comic section on either the 2nd or 3rd floor…
3. There are also areas around Ximen Ding and Taipei Main station – but they don’t have as many comics as Eslite and 101.

almost all bookstores, big or small, sell comic books translated from japanese and korean
A Good place to start would be the Guanghua Elec market – Blks 1 & 2. They have a good selection of Comics/Anime there. Closed 2nd and 4th Tuesdays every Month.

MRT Stop Zhongxiao Xinsheng > Exit 4 > Turn right, walk to second junction , turn left , walk 2 mins to location.
There are a few Comic shops along Taiyuan St in Ximenting
I always buy my comic at 光華商場. The old building renovating. So they move to a space near the old building, u will see a big market with a few doors. After rainbow building u can see it. Most of the store there sell IT things and DVD. There are 2 store tt sell comic and both will give u bk cover when u buy the comic. The mrt is zhongxiao xin shen.
u also can find a store in Xi Meng Ting that sell comics. it got a few level. Each level diff kind of comic and costume. Just open last year.

Gungguan area. Gungguan is on the MRT. there are a few comic shops. Also any book store will have comics excluding Eslite of course.
