I have a 3 year old Shetland Sheepdog that has been recently diagnosed with an enlarged heart. What are some possible causes?

This could be genetic or it may have been caused by a disease.
This is just a guess so I would advise you to talk to your own Vet about it or try a Veterinary website
Given the age of your dog, I would say genetics. If he has been diagnosed, what did your vet say about it?
