I’m making a mixtape for a good friend, and I need eighteen songs for it. The CD is broken up into three segments: Straight men who <3 Lesbians, Lesbians who <3 Lesbians, and Fake Lesbians. I already have the six songs for the first category (Pink Triangle by Weezer and She Has A Girlfriend Now by Reel Big Fish are two of the songs.) but I need help with the other two.
I don’t want to put on any Melissa Etheridge/Indigo Girls/k.d. lang-like songs, I want somewhat current (2000’s) songs written by teenage/20’s lesbians about them. Think like Tegan and Sara. (And if you say “I Kissed A Girl” by Katy Perry, I will smack you from my computer.)
And if you have any ideas for the Fake Lesbians category, feel free to add those, too. (That’s where IKAG will be placed. `_^)
All of T.A.T.U. songs are about lesbians because they are two lesbians singing about each other.
I would check out some of Mirah’s lyrics. She’s a lesbian indie singer, and I’m sure with all of the albums she’s made, there has to be one song about a girl in there…
t.A.T.u. are mostly about lesbians. Though they’re probably actually bi.

As for Tatu, Yulia is bisexual, Lena is straight (and catholic), but their producer had them pretend to be lovers as a concept to make money. His wife thought of a song and had a dream about star crossed lesbian lovers, so he used it with them. All of their songs are about lesbian love and the difficulties they face. They concepts portrayed in the songs are very real. I had sex with a girl for one of the first times to the song “30 minutes”. Also, Rufus Wainwright is a brilliant gay artist, I don’t know if he wrote about lesbians though. Look into him just for kicks.
