Racial pride?

What’s the point?

Why bother with “Asian Pride” or “Black pride” or whatever statement about pride out there?

It’s like saying “OMG ORANGES ARE THE BEST APPLES SUCK” just because something’s different.

Some people argue that “You will always end up where you came from.” That’s nice in novels, but in this case, that only aplies to people who doesn’t want to interact with other people because they don’t have the same racial origin.

I tend to consider this pride stuff to be a little ridiculous. I’ve considered getting a tee shirt made that says HUMAN PRIDE.

Even so (and I know a lot of people will thumbs down me for this and assume I’m a racist or I agree with the whole bunch of people in on this racial pride idiocy, even though I think it’s silly), what continually astounds me about this “some race pride” thing is that the minute some white guy says he has white pride, people scream he’s a racist and a white supremacist. It’s not okay for him to be proud of his race, but everybody else is allowed to be proud of theirs. That’s utter hypocrisy.

Take away all cultures what do you have?- Human that it that all. We are all human and none are perfect. If we were all perfect then we would have had internal life.

Come now… we all came from the same place regardles of your belief system. What is the point? Racial pride? Take me to where man is happy regardless of colour, gender, religion , political affialtion, etc. I’ll be happy then.

  5. Spare me your bull says

I agree. I think it’s better to be proud for accomplishments in life than something inherent at birth. I don’t see people walking around yelling, “Freckle pride” or “Green-eyed pride.” It’s pretty much the same thing. Why in the heck is someone proud just because they’re a certain race? That’s nothing to have pride over. Be proud of your character. Or morals. Or the fact that you’ve raised good kids. Anything’s better than saying i’m proud because I’m black, white or whatever.
