I have tried Carol’s Daughter and Aveda products…Suave and Tea Tree and jojoba root stimulator…nothing has impressed me so far. Most products are geared towards biracial hair and I haven’t found anything that really tames my coarse 4b hair…I want to try Miss Jessies but I am sick of spending money on products with no good results….HELP!!!

Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner is amazing! It made my hair feel fabulous!

Are those kits or oil treatments?
The best way to keep moisture in your hair is to try baby oil, olive oil, or activators that are light in weight.
A couple of drops just to reduce the brittle rough feeling.
Use Creme de coco shampoo, conditioner and masque by Bumble and bumble. They are actually geared toward coarse and afro textured hair and contain coconut butter, murumuru butter, mallow and milk thistle extract to add shine, soften and moisturize.
Alternately, Moisture Kick shampoo, conditioner, treatment and spray by Bonacure also work wonders. Use Sealed Ends by bonacure daily as well.
to be honest if u have coarse hair ders nothing really u cAN do about it all id advise is dat u keep it undercontrol by maybe having a conditioning treatment done by ur hairdrssers or even leaving conditioner on at home for 10mins….will make it feel softer
OIL MOISTURISER
oil does nothing but coat the strand, sealing in whatever moisture is already there. so if there’s no moisture, oil is just sealing in dryness, hence your coarse feeling.
to increase moisture, you need to condition and water your hair more WITHOUT shampoo. if you need to wash your hair, use one without sodium laureth sulfates or dilute a regular commercial shampoo.
also, use a spritz made with water, conditioner (with no ‘cones or ‘-anes in them b/c they end up coating and breaking the hair), essential oils, and castor oil. the oils in it will seal in the water content.
beware of conditioners that are high in protein or have silicones in them. they feel soft initially but really they are coating the hair and then drying them. some example of conditioners with cones in the are pantene and the like. especially those geared towards “african american hair.” really they’re cheaply made and are trying to tap into the 3billion we spend annually on hair. it’s a scam.
i suggest you coming by nappturality.com to find other fabulous tips.
