Does anyone else think Senator Obama’s campaign is a bit like a … personality cult?

I’ve been to one of the Obama rallies in New Orleans and it was highly organized and choreographed and all of it felt like one of the Soviet-style rallies of old…

By contrast, I went to a McCain town hall meeting at Loyola University (also in NOLA) and I literally sat three feet in front of John McCain!! I thought it was sooo cool to be able to shake hands and take a photo with such a famous person, yet at the same time he seemed really humble and down to earth

Does anyone else feel that Senator Obama’s ego is getting a bit ahead of himself?

    It’s all in your head.

The biggest personality cult is for King Ronald the Good, who singlehandledly destroyed the Soviet Union by sheer rhetoric!

    Yes and no…

He is cleaver, but he forgot the character trait that he needs to carry the day…

His biases will cost him the Presidency…

    McCains rallies are small
    Obama’s rallies are huge

Absolutely. Obama’s campaign has been totally scripted, down to the swooners and fainters in the audience (always on the front row next to Obama’s watchful eye). The conflicts arise for him when unscripted events take place, and you can visibly see his anger and loss of control at these times. That’s when the speech impediment comes into play.

I think this is the reason Obama backpeddles on meeting one on one with McCain in town hall settings. Obama is working from a script written for him, McCain is genuine in his beliefs and in his confidence in himself. And therein lies the difference in the two.
