Does anyone CARE about this? ?

Or have we accepted that our voting machines STILL aren’t working properly?

The company that makes Georgia’s electronic voting machines has warned state election officials of a programming flaw that tossed out 1,000 votes in Ohio, which uses the same equipment.

Texas-based, Premier Election Solutions Inc., recently warned election officials in Georgia and 33 other states that rely on its equipment to tally election results, about the potential problem, said Matt Carrothers, a spokesman with the Georgia Secretary of State’s office. The company is a subsidiary of Diebold Inc., of Ohio.

We should be concerned, and every precaution should be taken.

On the other hand, we should also be reasonable, and make sure we are comparing the accuracy and security of voting machines to that of old-style paper ballots.

Yes I knew about this. Ohio should of gone to Kerry. The Dem areas were the ones that didn’t work and the ACLU prove it two years ago. That is why I vote by mail have been for 26 years.

The accuracy of counting EVERY vote in every election is critical to our form of government – the voters’ trust in our process is absolutely essential.

Yes, I find it extremely scary. Star for you, good point.

to quote Stallin. It does not matter who gets the votes, it matters who counts the votes. That is why we have 8 years of W. Lets hope some one else is counting this time

I agree. I always vote early and ask for a paper ballot. During the last election I saw machines, which weren’t working properly. The people who were fighting them didn’t know that they could ask for paper ballots until they heard me ask for one. Using faulty voting machines again falls into the category Einstein described as insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
