Do you think tilikin the killer whale should be set free?

I love killers whales! i always have since i was small. they are the only animals i’m terrified of because they are geniuses!

well ok my question is should tilikin be set free or euthanize?

I think what they should do with him is set him free in the ocean, and let nature take its course, not do the whole training how to live in the wild. Just set him free. what do you think?

Me, personally I think hes had his chances. I love animals too, but This thing killed a Human. It must be put down.

Unfortuneately they cannot set him free as he has been in captivity for too long and would never survive. I do not think euthanasia should be an option either. I think they should keep him and continue to use him for breeding purposes but I don’t think he should be a performer anymore.

    Use him for medical experiments.

He can’t be set free. They tried to free the orca from Free Willy, and it didn’t go well at all. He was never truly independent, didn’t learn to hunt properly, and never interacted with other whales properly. That whale was the exact same age as Tikikum was when captured from the wild (two years old) so there’s reason to believe it would end the same way.

He also shouldn’t be euthanized- he was pulled out of the wild at age two. You can’t capture a wild animal then euthanize it because it doesn’t do what you want. They won’t euthanize him no matter what, since he’s worth approximately two million dollars. It’s illegal to capture orcas now, so he’s insanely valuable and irreplaceable.

What’s probably going to happen to him is he’s going to be fairly isolated from humans and used for breeding only.

I think they should keep him for breeding. He has 13 offspring, and he’s apparently very willing to breed while some other orcas don’t like to breed in captivity. So since orcas are an endangered species, keeping him in captivity could really help them.
