Speaking personally, I think creativity is something I was born with. I never had lessons in it, yet I find I’m a lot more creative than many other people, who don’t seem to be able to come up with new ideas very often.

I think that creativity is a gift and it can’t be forced it just pours
out when you get inspired. I don’t think you can neccessarily teach someone to be creative but you can help them develop their creativity with inspiration.

I think you’re born with it.
I think you can teach someone to be “more” creative..but somethings gotta be there to begin with..

To a certain extent, yes. You can supply them methods of increasing creativity and thinking outside of the box.

However, there is a certain special “something” that seperates the most creative minds from all the rest. This is nothing less than a gift, and cannot be taught.

I think everyone has a creative spirit that they just need to tap into.
However, I think some people have more creative tendencies than others. Some people just have a naturally more creative mind.

I believe that everyone has some amount of creativity, but some of us just use it more than others. I know my older sister isn’t magnificently creative, she’s a lot better at writing facts than fiction, but when she learned how to weld our uncle gave her a pile of junk and told her to make a bird out of it. It still looks like a pile of junk, but when you hold it a certain way, it kind of resembles a bird.

if you ‘teach’ someone to be creative then you are giving them a method to help them appear to be creative but they are really arent
creativity is something that you have to be born with for it to be genuine

creativity is not “taught” nor is it “innate” it is simply learned, like the act of reading is learned. The child’s first 5 years are the most important for a child interested in becoming creative. Read up on Piaget’s learning theories regarding artwork.

when i say learned, i mean that it will depend literally on the child’s willingness to develop their fine motor skills, and their aptitude to percieve the world. there is really nothing innate about it. we are all born with the same limitations. we are all raised in different environments.

it depends on how a person thinking. I think someone who is creative must have a very high imaginary. They usually image or create something that is impossible in real life but possible in their imaginary world. Then using the impossible ideas, they come up with another idea that can become true in the real world.
there is no method to teach someone to be creative, but you can encourage them to become more creative by giving some puzzles that require a lot of imaginary!
i don’t know if it’s work or not, never try :P

God has given us the ability to do both..a person can learn to play piano by listen to the notes he plays or someone can teach him the play…

You cannot teach creativity. You can inspire people which can lead to creativity, but you can’t teach it.

If you hit someone over the head hard enough and often enough with a heavy book you can teach them anything

I think you’re born with or without it. You can learn many things relating to creativity…but to be great creatively, it needs to reside in your being or ‘personality’. For instance, you can learn what notes would be good to use to do a suprise duet with someone on piano….but the only ‘creative’ part would be playing them in a pattern. If you find the notes by ear and then play, it’s more ‘your own’.

your’e born with it , it can’t be learnt
however education is important to awaken the creativity that someone has inside them

I think that you are born with it,
some people have talent but not the imagination and others have the imagination but not the talent=D

Creativity can be facilitated through giving children rich stimulation and freedom of choice early in life. This gives them mental nourishment and a foundation of thinking about alternatives. And I guess it could be taught as well if they learn their creative outlet, whatever it may be, through such stimulation or adult modeling. Many creative people learn their craft in the family.

Creativity is a human ability. Inhibition prevents others from demonstrating their creative abilities.

People who are taught to be embarrassed rarely show it.

teachable, definitely. it is one of the 8 major portions of my self written program in peak achievement. I teach it largely in accordance with Nierenberg’s The Art of Creative Thinking. I also teach brain hemisphere control which enhances creative thinking. So does my attention training.

  18. Amber says

Everyone is creative, it’s just the inspiration and imagination which defines how much so.

  19. Patti says

I think it is mostly inborn, but can be brought out in early childhood by play and activities. Whatever part of the brain that is used in early life functions better as an adult. If you have read the book or watched the movie called Sybil, that woman was traumatized and abused as a young child, she had many personalities. Her psychiatrist use art therapy to get her to open about her early experiences. She later went to college and got a Phd in art. The creativity was there from the beginning, but the trauma interfered with her progress.

  20. Morpheus says

Creativity is an ability which can be developed.

  21. Artist says

You can teach creativity to everybody at any time. The most important is to encourage creativity by not comparing but letting discovering the own style, the own creativity.
